Who's your cast for BGC?

Unlike the "resembles" thread, this is the one on which actor/ess you feel can best portray the characters of BGC. Either tv or OVA, just specify which series with the character.

Here is the current "primary" cast suggested by other fans:

Sylia - Charlize Theron(Devil's Advocate) or Kirsten Dunst(Spider-Man)
Priss - Olivia Lufkin(Jpop artist who sings in English as well)
Linna - Tanaka Rena(new actress from Japan) or China Chow(The Big Hit)
Nene - Jennifer Finnigan(Bold and the Beautiful, but too tall)
Mackie - Johnathon Taylor Thomas(Home Improvement, maybe too short)
Leon - Freddie Prinze Jr(Summer Catch, not my suggestion, but popular nonetheless)
Daley - John Cho(American Pie 1&2) or Garrett Wang(ST: Voyager)
Chief Todo - Reginald VelJohnson(Family Matters) or Keith David(Goliath, Spawn)
Quincy - Malcom MacDowell(ST: Generations)
Mason - Jude Law(Gattica, AI)
Bogey - Dwayne Johnson(The Rock, Scorpion King)
Cynthia - Dakota Flanning(I am Sam, maybe too old by production)
Irene - Anthena Chu(new actress from Japan/China) or Zhang Ziyi(CTHD)
Sho's Mother - Joan Chen(Judge Dredd)
Dr. Stingray - Brent Spiner(ST:TNG, Data, maybe better as Dr. Raven)

Of course there will be a few changes, perhaps even in the next couple of updates. It may even change with more of your suggestions ;).

I was thinking about bad guys who could play Quincy while I was at work the other day.  Here are the two I came up with:  Donald Sutherland and Marlon Brando.  Some actor (I think it was Harrison Ford) made a point about actors making good bad guys as they get older.  Sutherland has done some minor roles lately including a kinda evil Secretary General of the UN in the Art of War.  Brando hasn't really done anything lately but he seems like he could be Quincy.

There is also an actor I think would make a good Mason, except he may be too old and I can't think of his name.  He played the Secretary of Defense in Independence Day.  I've also seen him do some TV stuff.

Well I've come up with some minor problems with the current line up, so it'll need to be changed. So we need new suggestions.

Anyhoo, the problem is height. I know it's not crucial, however certain characters do need to be taller than others. It's not on the site yet, but it will be in the next updates:

Leon -  6 ft 4 in
Sylia - 5 ft 10 in
Linna - 5 ft 9 in
Priss -  5 ft 6 in
Nene -  5 ft 1 in

Now the actor/ess doesn't need to be the exact heights listed above, however they should atleast fall in that order. IE Leon being taller than Sylia, Sylia being taller than Linna, ect, ect. Something as close as an inche or two can be forgiven, it's not like the audience will notice that much. And 6 ft 4 in may be a bit much for Leon, since most of his scenes with the KS are with Priss, as long has he's a good deal taller than her it's fine.

So in the end height should be added when considering physical appearances too ;).

Donald Sutherland is a good suggestion for Quincy as well, and he's about the same age too. Marlon Brando? I'll look into it, but I thought he was dead.

Maybe Brando is dead.  Like I said he hasn't done anything in awhile.  I did think he was in that Michael Jackson video a few months back.

So whos a tall white guy who looks good in the sun glasses?

I liked Kirsten Dunst for Nene, especially after seeing her with red hair in the Spider-Man comercials.

Actually Kirsten Dunst was one of the first actresses cast for Nene. In fact until the last update, we had an image on the site for Nene:

Red Head Kirsten Dunst

But I had many people say no, for whatever reason, plus we face the height issue again. Miss Dunst is 5 ft 7 in, far too tall for Nene, and maybe even too short for Sylia. *sigh* back to the drawing board....

Well there is a couple of suggestions for Leon have inlcuded Casper Van Dien(my choice) and Brendan Frasier, both are around the 6 ft mark.

What about Christina Ricci for Nene?  She's short and kinda has that rounded face thing.  I don't know what she would look like with red hair though.

This one may be way to far out there for consideration, not to mention expensive.  How bout Nicole Kiddman for Sylia?  Could play a sophisticated leader, not to mention she's HOT!!  ;)

Chrisitina Ricci, Christina Ricci, everywhere I go she comes up for Nene. It's been so irritating, I keep asking, do these people even know what she looks like? I mean she's pale skinned, gothic, black eyeshadowed, how could you possibly consider her for Nene? Atleast that's what I have been thinking ;).

I finally decided to give her a shot, and throw away all my stereotypes and assumptions for her. This is what I found out:

She was born Feb 12, 1980. And she is 5 ft 4 in, so she is still short enough to play Nene and around the right age. So far so good. Now what would she look like as a red head? Check this out:

Christina Ricci Red Head

Now all we need to do is give her some color, ie throw her in a tanning booth for a few hours. Since the KS will have a few action shots of their own, there will have to be a physical training session for all of them. So Miss Ricci would be physically fit too. But what of her bust? She would have the largest breasts of all the KS, which doesn't seem right. I suppose they could be "strapped down" like they had to for Addam's Family Values. I've had my doubts, now I'm not so sure, and I'll throw her on the Nene page with Lacey Chabert as well, next update or so.

Nicole Kidman as Sylia. Wow. She may be abit older, but I'm sure we can play that down. A very nice suggestion, but what will she look like in lingerie ;)?

Yeah, about that. Um... I didn't realize that Sylia is only 22, mainly because I didn't really pay that much attention to the description. The impression I got from the series was that she was closer to my age than to yours.

She would still look great in lingerie if a scene called for it!! ;D

Nicole Kidman still looks good in lingerie ;D.

Another suggestion for Sylia was Sela Ward by Dr Raven himself, however beautiful as she is I had to say no. She was born in 1956, only 10 days younger than my mother. It was simply too much, if she were to sign on for the trilogy she would be in her fifties playing a 22 year old. Make up can do wonders, but that's something I'd like to avoid.

I have also been warned (though I was already aware of this) that posting actor/ess suggestion on a site designed to inform and promote this movie is a no no. When a producer or director sees this, they feel limited on who can play which parts, and thus may avoid the project. My rebuke is a simple one, it's for the fans. I'm just trying to add some fun to the project, and it also lets said producers know what the fans expect on the screen. After all these are just suggestions, these people don't have to be cast unless the producers want them to be.

Just so you fans know, I only keep track of the top three most requested actor/esses. Just trying to keep it simple, besides we seem to be having quite the diverse casting, which I believe is a good thing.

Priss - Eh, no idea
Linna - Ditto
Nene - Lindsay Lohan (she's still eligible you know) or Catherine Sutherland

Not sure about the rest, really.

It's been several years since we discussed casting, but since the film is going into production I believe it would be prudent to tell the producers who the fans would like to see with an updated list of current and up and coming actors.

Sylia - Kelly Hu
Priss - Kristina Kreuk
Linna - Gail Kim
Nene - Emily Browning
Leon - Ryan Reynolds
Daley - James Huang
Mason - John Cho
Quincy - John Glover
Sho's Mother - Grace Park

I still like the previous listings or am uncertain how to cast new, for example Dakota Flanning, although still a wonderful young actor, is now far too old to play Cynthia.

Agree or disagree to my new suggestions?
